The terrible tale
Around the campfire at night, the boys told stories.
“…chasing the raccoon and pretending it was Larry trying to distract them.
When they finally returned to the campfire, breathless and laughing, they agreed that even though they hadn’t found the backpack, they had a great time. And from that night on, every camping trip ended with them calling out, “Where’s my backpack?” just to keep Larry’s spirit alive.”
Everyone applauded at Henry’s funny ghost story.
“Me! Me!” Ernie called out.
“Once, I set fire to some toast using the moon…”
“…And that’s how I almost turned my backyard into a lunar inferno—all thanks to my brilliant idea about moonlight!”
Jack sighed.
WHY?
It’s not possible to make fire using the moon because moonlight is simply reflected sunlight, and its intensity is far too weak to generate enough heat to ignite materials. Unlike sunlight, which can be concentrated with a magnifying glass to start a fire, moonlight lacks the necessary energy to produce the temperatures required for combustion.
