The dodgy danish
“Today in our Traditional Danish Recipes session we will make some danishes. You have:150 ml of milk 2 teaspoons of instant yeast, 1 large egg, 1 egg yolk, 50 grams sugar…”
The list went on and on and on.
At the end, Jack started cooking.
His friend Jim was sitting beside him.
Henry was next to Jim.
Half an hour later, Henry’s was a beautifully crafted piece of pastry with intricate twists and twirls.
Jim’s was a passable craft.
Jack’s was a ruined and terrible pastry, with splattered dough and odd shaped angles.
He heard the baker speak.
“This is the first recipe for the Danish, created in Denmark. Of course, the recipe has been modernised, but it is still the original that you now know how to create.”
Jack piped up “It is not the original recipe because”
Because of what?
