The mysterious Muskellunge

The mysterious Muskellunge

As Jack finished his restaurant, his mum told him what they were going to do.

“We’re going to Lake Michigan for a tour of the Lake. Be careful, you might get wet,” warned Mrs. Watson.

“Okay, I’ll be careful.” assured Jack.

The water splashed Jack as the speedboat skimmed the water.

The old tour guide stood up and the speedboat immediately slowed down.

“There’s an old folk story about this local fishing hero, The Rodfather. He was an old experienced fishing mentor, but in his younger days, he caught a sixty-inch Muskie.”

Some of the more experienced at fishing gasped and clapped.

“For those that don’t know, a Muskellunge is a fish that, if it’s big enough, is powerful, suspicious and tough. A fifty-inch one is considered a trophy catch. Sixty? It’s huge.

Now the story goes Mister Rodfather here quickly reeled it in despite that Muskie thrashing about violently. His buddy got a camera and as he took the photo, that Muskie started fighting for its life! It was thrashing about more than in the water. They just managed to keep it in the boat!” the tour guide chuckled.

“No he didn’t. He never caught that Muskie!”

Why?
